I have filmed in Mena, up in the Ouachita Mountains, and it is one of the most underrated places I have worked. Ridge lines, fog in the morning, and almost no one else around.
Arkansas weddings tend to be family-run in the best sense. Food from people who know the couple, a ceremony on land that means something, and a reception nobody wants to leave.
That kind of day rewards documentary coverage. I stay out of the way and let the family be the film.
