Just to get this out of the way up front: I'm not based in Texas — I'm based in Utah and I travel to Texas regularly. (An old version of this page said otherwise; that was wrong.)
Most of my Texas work is Austin and the Hill Country — Fredericksburg, Wimberley, Driftwood — where the ranch-and-live-oak wedding style has its own visual language. Prospect House, The Addison Grove, Barr Mansion, Vista West Ranch — these are venues I know well.
Texas weddings tend to run longer than the coast. Bigger guest counts, longer toasts, later reception exits. I plan coverage for it — 9 or 10 hours is standard here, and it earns its keep.
